Rooftop solar has huge potential for decentralised electricity generation. I bought a solar generator recently and am impressed at what it can do, despite the modest investment. The UK government commissioned a national security report on the implications of Biodiversity loss. Then Number 10 apparently decided against publishing it (last year). A couple of FOI requests later and an (allegedly) heavily redacted summary was released earlier this year without fanfare to satisfy legal requirements. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/nature-security-assessment-on-global-biodiversity-loss-ecosystem-collapse-and-national-security Even the summary page makes for sobering reading. #UKPol #Sustainability #Environment #Biodiversity

Plastic recycling isn’t a solution. It is a marketing campaign designed to shift the burden of waste from the manufacturer to the consumer. Most plastic is "downcycled" once, then heads straight to the landfill or the ocean.
