In Campbell Town, central Tasmania, they have a statue of Elizabeth Furlong. She was part of a farming dynasty that helped introduce Merino sheep to Australia.
I like the way the town commemorate socio economic achievement rather than politico military like so many do.
And it's good that the woman of the family gets recognition rather than being erased and eclipsed by her male relatives.

Violet Zulu, earned $40 a month as a house cleaner in Zambia. She was sentenced to seven years in a maximum security prison in 2024 for illegally terminating her pregnancy on her own. She didn’t see her two children or other family members for nearly two years. After word of her case reached international rights groups that helped her file an appeal, Zulu was freed last month.
