So I've now got another pro-Israel neighbor to watch out for. He asked me what had happened yesterday that I needed the police for, and I told him that I was attacked for wearing a keffiyeh. He shut down and turned away saying, "Well that's just what it is", suggesting that I got what I should for the way I'm dressed. Then he decided to turn back and berate me about my keffiyeh, first asking (without accepting any answers) why I wear it. I said because I stand with Palestine and against war, and believe that our government needs to be anti-war. At least, that's what I started to say, but I barely got a few words out before he cut me off. He scoffed at this and told me that I'm not anti-war because people aren't dying in the middle east, they're dying everywhere but Palestine, and that way more people have been killed in Nigeria than the middle east, making the same claims of 100,000 Christians in 16 years as Donald Trump made (I'll go into debunking this claim later, to have a healthy discussion with you guys since I wasn't allowed to talk with him). Then he went on to say that I can't be anti-war because I don't have Nigerian flags all over my property, or Sudan flags, and I let him rattle on but had to draw the line when he said, "or what about Ukraine?" Everybody knows I stand steadfast for Ukraine and that my wife is Ukrainian. This absolutely RIDICULOUS notion that you can't be anti-war if you stand for Palestine because other wars exist in the world is rooted in the same ideology that you can't say Black Lives Matter unless you hate White people, or you can't stand for queer rights unless you hate Christians and straight people. Then they say, "No, Black lives don't matter! White lives matter! Blue lives matter! All lives matter!" because encompassing all lives means only the status quo and omits the oppressed. Then he said, "You know that I'm Jewish" in a threatening way like that makes me his mortal enemy. I told him, "So what? That doesn't make me your enemy, and many Jews I know are also pro-Palestine and anti-war." At least, that's what I started to say but only got a few words in again. At least I managed the "so what?" part before I got cut off again, lol. But I promised I would delve deeper into the Nigerian genocide issue. The number of Nigerians facing genocide for their beliefs is staggering. Ignoring the debunked numbers that Trump used, echoed by my neighbor, Genocidewatch has much more legitimate numbers and cites 75,000 in 13 years by Jihadist extremists, which includes 45,000 Christians and 30,000 Muslims (the Muslims are the ones who are always omitted by right-wing sources, or just lumped in with the number labeled "Christians"). But that's over 13 years, in a country with 50x the population of Gaza, that gains approximately the population of Gaza (~2 million) every year. Meanwhile, the most absoultely rock-bottom undercounted numbers (since most bodies are buried under rubble) for death toll in Gaza in just over 2 years since the end of 2023, is over 75,000. The difference in scale is staggering. Now let's look at Ukraine. Many who stand against the invasion of Palestine stand against the invasion of Ukraine, for the same reasons. Did Ukraine fall out of the limelight though? N ot really, though they have been overshadowed by greater atrocities. This is not because we don't like to talk about white people dying, or that we only talk about Palestine because we're antisemitic Jew haters, as some claim. Nobody has forgotten Ukraine, but unlike Palestine the world says that Ukraine has the right to defend themselves. The same world leaders say that Palestine has no right to defend themselves. Meanwhile, in the first 2 months of killing in Palestine there were more people killed than in the entire first year in Ukraine since Putin invaded Kyiv in 2022. That is, again, a staggering difference in scale. To a people who cannot defend themselves in any way whatsoever, and are already under full occupation, where their oppressor who is bombing them can also shut off their power and water. So why the fuck would I not stand for Palestine, when I also stand for Ukraine, or anybody else murdered in oppression? That accusation is so beyond ridiculous to believe, that anybody would be so brainwashed to make it. Those who stand against war and genocide always stand for all. While only those who support HATE of one particular group believe that solidariry is exclusive, not inclusive. #hate #racism #HateSpeech #abpoli #cdnpoli #inclusion

#KemiBadenoch says that the #UK was built on #FossilFuels. But #Ecotricity founder #DaleVince dismisses Bad Enoch's fantasy. He says that the UK was "built on slavery, on racism, on colonialism, on Empire. We abused the rest of the world to be a rich country" Dale Vince is of course entirely right. So his comments should be commonplace and unworthy of sharing. But the UK has never de-imperialised. So Dale is on his own. 😡 #ukpol #BritishEmpire #colonialism #slavery #racism #imperialism

RE: https://mastodon.social/@heidilifeldman/116520032707782074 i co-wrote, with other feminist bloggers, a letter to the US Congress asking them to reject Samuel Alito for #SCOTUS. the lawyers in the group had a long list of cases but there was one case that stood out. we all agreed it was THE red flag about his extremism: HIS CRUELTY TOWARDS A BLACK TEENAGE GIRL in a decision that allowed prosecutors to treat her as an adult instead of a child. that case felt like a foreshadow of this #MAGA coup & #civilWar #USpol #racism #fascism #elections2026

But Sam Alito just cannot handle a dissent from Brown that explains that he and the other Roberts Court judges who went along with him are nakedly using their privilege and authority to advantage the Republican Fascist Party and its white supremacist agenda. 7/

While all racism is abhorrent , why is the government is only focused on one specific group? Everyday there are many incidents of racism, some of which quite violent, which the government just ignores. But here we are with a conference now on just one group focused. What this tells everyone else is that they don't matter. #labour #racism #zionism #corruption https://archive.ph/Cs6TY

So... who's surprised? Racism, misogyny, xenophobia, islamophobia in the Met (London Metropolitan Police). It's still upsetting and depressing though. And the sad thing is there are lots of decent police officers and they end up getting tarred with the same brush. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cvgq06d44jyo #met #metpolice #racism #misogyny #islamophobia #domesticviolence #sexism #sexualviolence #xenophobia

Palantir has issued a far-right, racist manifesto denouncing "dysfunctional" & "regressive" cultures & critticising "attempts to hound wealthy figures out of public life by scrutinising their behaviour." It also called for "the expansion of AI weaponry." Palantir shares fell immediately. Palantir "has accelerated Israel's ongoing genocide in Gaza", & yet the British govt has granted it access to NHS England. https://www.middleeasteye.net/news/palantir-shares-slide-after-manifesto-post-denouncing-regressive-cultures #UKPol #USPol #EUPol #Palantir #racism #fascism #News .

At this point, I think we're probably still a long way from identifying the full web of influence, corruption, and misappropriation of resources behind Governor Ron DeSantis' concentration camp in the Florida Everglades, the obnoxiously named "Alligator Alcatraz." As such I'm going to keep this post pretty brief; more or less to keep the issue on our radar as more information emerges. With that caveat noted however, this Talking Points Memo article talks about the outlet's extremely nascent investigation into how DeSantis built the concentration camp, who paid for it, and who profits from it. Would it surprise you to learn that Florida's fascist governor is using a fake "emergency" to make this monstrous bullshit happen, the money trail is a hot mess, and Florida taxpayers are going to be the folks footing the bill for Ron's nazi apology to Downmarket Mussolini? Yeah, it didn't surprise me either. https://talkingpointsmemo.com/news/contracts-desantis-alligator-alcatraz Contracts Show Millions of Dollars and Diverted Disaster Resources Were Used to Build DeSantis’ ‘Alligator Alcatraz’ "TPM has obtained and analyzed over a dozen contracts and invoices related to the construction and operation of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ so-called “Alligator Alcatraz” migrant detention camp in the Everglades. The documents identify eight previously undisclosed companies — including two firms with a Fortune 500 pedigree — involved with the controversial facility. They also show that, in at least one instance, resources allocated for the state’s “disaster preparedness” apparatus were diverted to the site as DeSantis’ office used emergency powers to quickly establish the camp, causing a shortfall that needs to be addressed during the ongoing hurricane season." I must confess that part of me feels like I'm insulting my readers' intelligence when I remind folks, over and over again, that nightmare concentration camps for migrants, many of whom are guilty of nothing more than a civil violation, would be an unacceptable eliminationist outrage even if nobody was profiteering from it and it cost the public coffers zero dollars. In the grand scheme of things the lies, corruption, and misappropriation of public funds are a side story compared to the fact that we've just opened a real as fuck concentration camp in a remote part of Florida and there are already reports of widespread human rights abuses and unsafe conditions emerging mere weeks after "Alligator Alcratraz" opened. With that having been said, informed observers must know by now that the rich nazis running the larger American fascist movement do have designs on profiting from fascist repression, ethnic cleansing, and the migrant carceral complex - and projects like Alligator Alcatraz demonstrate how that odious business functions. If you want to know the names of the eleven companies already identified as working with the government of Florida to make this eliminationist bullshit possible, who is getting paid for what, and how many of the folks directly profiting from this are DeSantis donors (there are several) I recommend you just read the article. The short version here however is that like Trump, DeSantis has declared "an alarming number of migrants in Florida" to be a state level crisis, he then used emergency powers to divert a bunch of money, including from disaster prevention and relief funding in a state notorious for having a "hurricane season," to build a fucking concentration camp surrounded by alligators as a make up gift for his ally and former GOP nomination opponent, President Trump. Along the way a bunch of very shitty companies are raking in the money for substandard work, and the entire DeSantis administration is working overtime to keep as much of this as possible a complete secret from anyone who might be in a position to conduct any oversight on this genocidal nazi boondoggle. Think "Halliburton in post-Saddam Iraq" but on a smaller scale. #Fascism #Trump #RonDeSantis #AlligatorAlcatraz #Racism #ConcentrationCamp #MigrantRights #Immigration #EthnicCleansing #Corruption #Graft #Bribery #Eliminationism #EthnoNationalism #Investigation

Racism and politics Hover or focus to reveal Sensitive
I'm still chuckling at Shame Jones' attempt to do a racism and how badly it's backfiring on him. As far as racisms go, it is (possibly quite appropriately) the weakest of weak sauce. Butter chicken is (famously) very mild, basically just chicken stewed in cream and coloured with turmeric. There is - NOTHING - scary about it. It's a very nice meal, but hot and/or spicy it ain't. If there was a literal tsunami of butter chicken on the horizon I'd be heading out to the beach with as many clean bowls, buckets and pots as I could find. A few years back there was an almost-chemist woo shop between my work and the closest car park. For a while, out in front of it were big displays of Super Good-For-You stuff: turmeric and apple cider vinegar. I figured out quickly that I could duplicate the (supposed) effects much more cheaply with a curry and a bottle of cider and get a decent meal as well as the Super Health Benefits. Tomorrow night is specials night at my local curry place and I might just vote with my feet. Might get a balti. Might get a bhuna. Might get a rogan josh. Might make a nod to my Scottish heritage and get a tikka masala. And hopefully none of Shame Jones' little shitbags will try to make trouble while normal people are queueing up for normal dinners. #Racism #NZPol #ButterChickenTsunami

"Trump has now formulated a new racism expressed in [the National Security Strategy] document as 'civilizational.' He states outright that Europe and our NATO allies are facing 'civilizational erasure' by allowing immigration from other countries that go unnamed but are clearly not 'European.' This is formulating the Great Replacement Theory as U.S. national policy." ~ Lucian K.
