I’m an elderly lefty, living in South West England who’s looking for a nice place in the fediverse where I can share/ learn/ politely disagree etc with others & (occasionally) vent my frustrations & concerns about the parlous state of the world that my grandkids are growing up in! When I’m not “doom scrolling” I enjoy gardening, bird watching, bread baking & being the best granddad I can be.

“Abdul Wali Mamozai, a Muslim man, was murdered in Bracknell on 27 April, a few days before a mentally ill man wounded two Jewish people — and one Muslim man — in London.
When the latter attack took place, the media went into a frenzy. The Muslim victim was airbrushed out to a footnote at best. The government and ‘opposition’ condemned the ‘antisemitic’ attack, immediately announcing special measures and huge amounts of extra funding for security for the Jewish community.
They also deleted the Muslim victim”

So... who's surprised? Racism, misogyny, xenophobia, islamophobia in the Met (London Metropolitan Police).
It's still upsetting and depressing though.
And the sad thing is there are lots of decent police officers and they end up getting tarred with the same brush.
