"Brad voted Trump bc he promised to be “the most pro-farmer president you’ve ever had.🚨”Instead, #tariffs cut Brad’s export market; the #IranWar surged #fertilizer prices by 70%. So Brad arranged his family’s final sale. “Farm is going dry,” said the ad.🚨“Every cow must go.” -D Zak The Watsons had been dairy farming since before the Civil War -one of dozens of Watson farms that'd spread across No PA. #ETTD #Farming #Trump #TrumpRegime #Kakistocracy #Kleptocracy #USPol https://www.nytimes.com/2026/05/03/us/dairy-farm-butter-ridge-pennsylvania.html?unlocked_article_code=1.flA.ofFQ.P7KtZdxcQpSN&smid=nytcore-ios-share

"A surprising new study suggests that eating a very healthy diet—packed with fruits, vegetables, and whole grains—might be linked to a higher risk of lung cancer in younger non-smokers. Researchers found that patients under 50 diagnosed with lung cancer often had better-than-average diets, raising the possibility that pesticide exposure from conventionally grown produce could be a hidden culprit." Eating more fruits and vegetables tied to unexpected lung cancer risk https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2026/04/260417224454.htm https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2026/04/260417224454.htm #nutrition plantbased #food #organic #diet #farming #agriculture #pesticides #health #PublicHealth #cancer #GoVegan

I noticed around twenty years ago that insects in Europe were in serious decline. It didn’t even need a ‘scientific study’ and I use the same methodology today. In the 1980s, in summer, when I drove in Europe, the windscreen of my car was covered in dead insects after only 100km of driving. By the early 2000s this was no longer true. Many fewer bug-splats on the glass. Now? Hardly any at all. You cannot blame Climate Change for this. This is down to excessive pesticides and farming techniques. Now studies show bird populations in serious decline. Ever wonder what they used to eat? We learnt nothing from the DDT fiasco, apparently. #insects #flies #driving #Climate #ClimateChange #pesticides #farming #environment #Birds #bioaccumulation #systemcollapse

The world is becoming far more unstable from a security point of view. Food security in the UK is also worryingly unstable. We must make farming financially viable. We must also protect our farmland. Please consider supporting this charity #FoodSecurity #farming #farmland 👇 The National Farmland Trust - a not for profit organisation https://share.google/nghSQQTUDBPOFDKsh

Extreme weather in Mediterranean will likely raise EU food prices, as winter-producing regions drenched and flooded. —> This will keep happening; we need to get serious about a climate resilient agricultural system in Europe https://www.ft.com/content/8504b1a8-dcf6-43b7-8816-fdaac8b30f12 #Weather #Climate #ClimateCrisis #Europe #EU #UE #Mediterranean #Agriculture #Farming #Food #Economics

'Beef and lamb get 580 times more in EU subsidies than legumes, study finds' "Analysis by the charity Foodrise found the EU’s common agricultural policy (CAP) provides “unfair” levels of support to meat-heavy diets that doctors consider unhealthy and climate scientists consider environmentally destructive." "It found beef and lamb were subsidised 580 times more than legumes in 2020, while pork was subsidised nearly 240 times more. Dairy, meanwhile, received 554 times more in subsidies than nuts and seeds." "the analysis showed livestock benefited from disproportionate support even before counting hidden societal costs, such as pollution." "We now need a common agrifood policy that explicitly integrates environmental and public health goals into how EU farmers are supported." https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2026/feb/19/beef-lamb-legumes-eu-subsidies-study #food #health #Environment #plantbased #vegan #farming
