#RFKJr on Monday announced initiatives intended to reduce #SSRI use, while attempting to reassure Americans who still “want” [have] to take them. They include reimbursement guidelines for physicians who help patients come off of the medications as well as plans to share data on prescribing trends & an investment in training for #healthcare providers. #MentalHealth #PsychiatricCare #health #PublicHealth #science #medicine

The other 80% is determined by other factors... our home, education, employment, environment, health behaviours and social connections. This 80% can be influenced through investment in communities. Investment of time, funding, trust and (most importantly) power...' #health 1/2

Red-light therapy does have health benefits but not the ones you think. From @NewScientist@flipboard.com: "Red-light therapy promises to treat everything from acne and hair loss to depression and chronic pain. Many of these claims are overhyped, but evidence suggests it can have healing powers." Registration may be required: https://flip.it/2IpFdz #Science #Health #Medicine
