Here's a strange situation:

thousands of developers use , , , or -regex every single day — tools I wrote, maintain, and improve for free.

Their companies, though? None of them want to hire their author.

If you use my tools at work and your company does , I'd really appreciate a hand landing a job or freelance mission. A boost goes a long way. 🙏🦀

The promise of Async Rust often clashes with its current reality. This article argues that despite its potential, Async Rust remains in an MVP state, creating a ‘two-tiered ecosystem’ for developers. It highlights how Tokio’s monoculture and the Send + 'static trap introduce significant complexity and overhead, often making traditional threading a more ergonomic and performant choice for common…

Why does #Canonical wants to replace the fully developed #GNU #coreutils by their newly developed #uutils? The only difference is, that the uutils are a reimplementation in #RUST of the coreutils, written in #C. All they obviously do is to put issues into these absolute basic utilities that doesn’t exist in the originals. To me that makes no sense. The only idea I get why Canonical might do this is to get more control over basic utilities of #Linux. https://seclists.org/oss-sec/2026/q2/332

I built a small CLI tool called pcurl. I use curl daily, but its output is hard to read: headers + body mixed, no structure. So I built something simple in rust 🦀: readable output ✨, no new syntax, works in the terminal 💻 It also supports WebSockets 🔌 https://github.com/TincoNomad/pretty-curl More context: https://open.substack.com/pub/tinconomad/p/i-built-pcurl-readable-curl-output?r=69jgco&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web #commandline #devtools #rust
