Im Fediverse seit 26.04.2022 Hier her umgezogen aus dem TrötCafe. Den ersten Kaffee gibt es schon morgens im Bett. Ich koche und backe gerne und bekomme beides inzwischen auch recht gut hin. Backen klappt besser als kochen. Begeistert für die Fliegerei. Am liebsten fliege ich selber. Das Meer ist für mich ein Ort der Ruhe. Ich bin für die Legalisierung von Cannabis und gleichzeitig für die Regulierung der Abgabe von Alkohol und Nikotin. Oft in Südwest England (Devon) anzutreffen. Meine Boosts stellen nicht immer meine Meinung dar. Why does #Canonical wants to replace the fully developed #GNU #coreutils by their newly developed #uutils?
The only difference is, that the uutils are a reimplementation in #RUST of the coreutils, written in #C.
All they obviously do is to put issues into these absolute basic utilities that doesn’t exist in the originals.
To me that makes no sense. The only idea I get why Canonical might do this is to get more control over basic utilities of #Linux.

I'm admittedly jealous b/c you had access to a #POSIX system (& a #FOSS one too!) from your earliest computer-using time in life.
I “wasted”¹ my teenage years with a Commodore 64² — writing in BASIC & 6502 assembler.
I was ≈ 18 years old before I got access to a “real” computer running #Unix SYSVR3.2.3 & ported #GNU #Emacs to it.
¹ I learned useful skills, but it yielded no useful artifacts.

Final de semana serviu para resolver problemas com o meu Thinkpad L14 (L14 parece nome de linha de onibus interurbano. Na Alvorada tem o L10) Bom… testei algumas distros e nao funcionou, sao elas:
- Trisquel
- Guix
- PureOS
Bom… cheguei a fazer o setup do slackware 15 mas vi que nao tenho mais a paciencia que tinha antigamente em compilar muita coisa e etc. Rodei o Arch e foi bom, mas ao instalar Teamviewer o installpkg entrava em looping… então resumindo:
O bom e velho Debian, na sua versão 13 deu conta do recado. Sigo feliz!

El listado de mirrors de Debian actualmente muestran un solo mirror (mantenido por la gente de CURE Rocha desde hace años) y recientemente también se registró junto con el nuestro, otro mirror de interior.edu.uy (que en realidad venía funcionando hace un tiempo ya). Nuestro mirror junto con los otros ya está listado en la página de status de mirrors de Debian:

Por lo que pronto habrán 3 mirrors en Uruguay de las cuales el nuestro será el único sostenido por una comunidad autónoma y autogestionada. También el mirror incluye las ISO-CD netinstall y businesscard ISOs para poder descargar, crear buteables y luego instalar usando el mirror. Tener un mirror local nos dá soberanía, nos independiza un poco más y hace que el tráfico sea local.
Sostener un mirror es un compromiso a largo plazo y requiere recursos que estamos dispuestos a poner a disposición como los que se ponen para otros proyectos importantes que llevamos adelante en nuestra pequeña red. Finalmente quiero destacar que los otros 2 mirrors uruguayos son de instituciones públicas y en particular, la Universidad de la República (cure.edu.uy e interior.edu.uy) lo que muestra que importante que es un mirror de Debian. Lo unico que no está mirroreado es el repo debian-security, que eso no se mirroréa.
