Our 1992 Hoi Amiga game has been re-released, including source files! 🥳 Hoi was the predecessor to Moon Child. Prepare, it's a tough old school platformer… I mean… an exciting game challenge! 😉 The game was converted from the original 68000 CPU Assembly code to C via a soon-to-be released transpiler created by our coder. @shrub900@mastodon.social I'm admittedly jealous b/c you had access to a #POSIX system (& a #FOSS one too!) from your earliest computer-using time in life. I “wasted”¹ my teenage years with a Commodore 64² — writing in BASIC & 6502 assembler. I was ≈ 18 years old before I got access to a “real” computer running #Unix SYSVR3.2.3 & ported #GNU #Emacs to it. ¹ I learned useful skills, but it yielded no useful artifacts. ² Yes, @cwebber@social.coop, I *was* keeping up with #Commodore, but it was *not* keeping up with me!!

@ann3nova@corteximplant.com @frameworkcomputer@fosstodon.org and yes, the "smushed down" into 1U "Inverse-T Navcluster is a "#LineNav" and only second worse to #Commodore's Shift+Direction Key to invert direction which prevents diagonals! A proper "Inverse-T-Nav" looks like this:

My journey with SID and the Z80 started way, way back in 2002, working out how to get it to play happily when connected to a fast Zilog Z80 bus on the SAM Coupe, rather than the MOS6510 it was designed for. 2003 saw the first commercial version of my SID Interface for the SAM Coupe. It's had a few tweaks in the years since and is still available. In 2020 I was asked if the interface would work on the RC2014 (Thanks Shiela!). Replied no, but then a few weeks later, yes!, having redesigned the interface in a version specifically for the RC2014 bus and integrating an interrupt controller for 50/60/100Hz - ideal for use with other soundchips too! This version has also had a few tweaks over the last six years since release, currently on v1.3. Can't add photos due to the 'quote' so will add a reply to this post with photos... Here is another project I've been working on: https://github.com/ytmytm/1551-RAMBOard-FirstBank It's a RAMBOard, but for 1551. As far as I know this is the first of its kind. Just like on 1541-II a small daughterboard that plugs into the ROM socket. It adds 8K of RAM ($8000-$9FFF) plus 8K of extra ROM space ($A000-$BFFF). There is a patched ROM which uses the extra RAM as a track cache: it reads the entire track in one disk revolution, then serves subsequent sector reads from memory. Same idea as the track caching ROMs I did for 1541 and 1571. The project also includes a tiny fastloader wedge (HypaRAM) that calls the code embedded in the patched ROM. The same fastloader is already supported by the latest version of Parobek ROM for C16/116/Plus4. The performance is on par with DolphinDOS - about 27x faster than a stock 1541, about 7x faster than a stock 1551. #commodore #commodore16 #plus4 #hardware #8bit #cbm
