Finished Two Can Play by Ali Hazelwood. It's a fun, cute romance romp based around videogame designers.
I had a lot of fun with this one, and as it is a novella it was a very quick read. I enjoyed the romance between the two, I enjoyed the videogame references.
I did find some of the descriptions to be a bit... medical. Like there was a part where the FMC touches the MMC's "sternum" - just say touch his chest.

Finished Mort by Terry Pratchett today.
I enjoyed the book, thought it was good! It really needed more Death - he was such a stand out character!
The book is full of funny and intelligent quips! I found the pacing of the plot to be a bit all over the place, though.

Finished Happy Place by Emily Henry.
I loved it - a really good romance book that explores relationships between lovers, friends, and family. I wasn't expecting it to go quite as deep as it did, but I enjoyed it.

FINALLY! I have finished the Heat 2 book by Michael Mann and Meg Gardiner.
The book reads like a script for a film turned into a book - it lacks depth and there is a lot of repetitive language. It was nice to see Neil and Vincent Hanna again. The Chris chapters were a slog though.
The audiobook is ace - the guy has a grizzly/gravelly voice. Loved the audiobook.

Just finished reading The Voice of Saruman chapter in LOTR The Two Towers.
I genuinely loved that chapter. Like, Saruman is clearly evil, but there was things he said where I audibly laughed:
“Will I come down?” he mocked. “Does an unarmed man come down to speak with robbers out of doors?”
Like, that felt like a very visceral real conversation between two old friends. Absolutely love the writing.

Reading The Two Towers after watching the extended edition. I have to say I'm enjoying LOTR so much now that I have some mental context for the characters in the book. I actually understand what is going on now!
(I got a bit lost in Book 2 of Fellowship of the Rings, and coincidentally I forgot the second half of the extended version...)

I've finished The Color Purple by Alice Walker.
It was a pretty slow read for me due to how utterly devastating the events are in the book. Maybe I've just realised I kind of want an easier read or maybe it is down to other factors, but I found The Color Purple to be challenging. Still, it has a beautiful ending where everything resolves in a way that feels like a warm hug after the initial hits to the soul.

Just finished Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson.
All I got to say is WOW. I absolutely *loved* this book! It was a bit hard to get into at first, but after a few chapters in I was HOOKED.
I loved the fantasy elements, I loved the characters, I loved the world.
Just brill!

I've made it 65% of the way through Mistborn, and I'm honestly loving it.
It's incredibly accessible while having pretty deep lore. The characters are diverse and aren't stereotypical cliches straight from fantasy. Women aren't written like their chest size is their entire personality. The plot is a bit like Oceans 11 with added metals and magic.
I absolutely love it. Can't wait to finish it.

Read Invisible Monsters by Chuck Palahniuk.
