Quindi ha ricordato l’impegno durante il Covid. “Tengo particolarmente a ricordare il contributo decisivo e l’appassionata dedizione che vi ha contraddistinto in occasione della pandemia da Covid, drammatica, lunga emergenza – che voi avete vissuto con sacrifici immani e con diverse vittime – e che qualcuno, dimenticando i tanti morti di quei tragici giorni, vorrebbe derubricare a poco più di una leggera influenza”, ha detto ancora, sottolineando il rischio di “dimenticare gli sforzi spesso eroici – ripeto, eroici – e le sofferenze di medici e infermieri, di tutto il personale sanitario”. “In questa giornata, desidero doverosamente ribadire la gratitudine della Repubblica per quel che avete fatto”, ha aggiunto, ricordando anche il lavoro quotidiano dei sanitari che infondono “fiducia, testimoniano umanità e solidarietà preziose insieme ai trattamenti terapeutici”.
