The Westport Observatory, run by the volunteers of the Westport Astronomical Society brings the night sky down to the thousands who visit annually. We’re a non-profit that’s free and open to the public every Wednesday night from 8-10 pm if the skies are clear. We do suggest a donation of $5 per person if you're not a member. This Week’s Sky at a Glance (Feb 20–March 1)
Forecast for us in New England: mostly “meh.” Clouds rule the week, but if you catch a break, look up. Jupiter is blazing high after sunset. Saturn lingers low in the dawn. Orion dominates the evening with Taurus and the Pleiades nearby.
Late winter skies are prime deep-sky season—grab it if you can.
