#paperday on #astroph "The Impact of the Magnetised Cosmic Web on Ultra High Energy Cosmic Ray Propagation" by Allegra Firinu, myself and Carmelo Evoli. We investigated the role of realistic extragalactic magnetic fields in deflecting E>1e18eV cosmic rays, effectively creating "an horizon" beyond which particles cannot reach us, as they are trapped by magnetic fields. https://arxiv.org/abs/2605.02324 #cosmoMAG #astrophysics #astronomy #physics

I have a #physics question and I hope maybe some nerd will be interested in taking up the challenge of explaining something to an (I like to think) intelligent layperson. A lot of stuff I read about dark matter seems to assume, implicitly or even explicitly, that it comprises particles that not only don't interact with the ones we're pretty sure about, but also don't interact with each other. Is this just Occam's Razor? 'Cause, I mean, everything we DO know about is *complicated*! …

#Superfluidity is the characteristic property of a fluid with zero viscosity which therefore flows without any loss of kinetic energy. When stirred, a superfluid forms vortices that continue to rotate indefinitely. Superfluidity occurs in two isotopes of helium (helium-3 and helium-4) when they are liquefied by cooling to cryogenic temperatures. It is also a property of various other exotic states of matter theorized to exist in astrophysics, high-energy physics, and theories of quantum gravity.[1] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superfluidity #physics #caturday #caturdayeveryday

Imposter syndrome doesn’t mean you don’t belong. It often means the opposite, that you care deeply about what you do. I asked my colleagues to join me, because many of the most accomplished, world-leading scientists have felt like “frauds” at times. The difference? They don't let that feeling define them, and often even learn how to use it to their advantage Check out this video for a few hard-earned tips from people at the very top

Paper 5 — Boundary Dynamics: Resolution, Selection, and the Realization of Admissible States. If boundaries define what’s allowed, what determines what actually occurs? Answer: systems don’t choose — they settle into states that remain admissible under real conditions. S(n+1) = Resolve[S(n) | L, B(n)] Resolution = realization of admissibility (no optimisation, no teleology — just persistence) https://substack.com/@hybridmind42/note/p-195972037?r=75c2ac #BoundaryDynamics #ComplexSystems #Physics #ScientificClarity #BFPF
