This is horrific and a massive breach of ethics where it concerns consent. The University of Southern California (#USC) and University of California, San Diego (#UCSD) have millions of dollars in contracts to sell bodies donated for scientific research to the #Navy who gave them to the #IDF. (Our tax dollars at work.) Yes, the IDF. Easier to know how to kill #Palestinian kids if you take aim at some #American corpses first, I guess. Both universities have said they plan on continuing the program. Maybe rethink your plans to donate your body to science, if that was on your agenda. https://www.aljazeera.com/podcasts/2026/5/13/the-takehow-us-donor-bodies-were-sold-for-israeli-military-training https://www.uscannenbergmedia.com/2026/05/11/al-jazeera-documentary-highlights-uscs-sale-of-dead-bodies-to-us-navy-israeli-military/ https://www.instagram.com/reel/DYNZeVuBT_D/

Yamal takes a Palestinian flag from a fan and waves it on the open-top bus: the gesture during Barcelona celebrations. On social media, images of Lamine Yamal, a 18-year-old phenomenon from Barcelona who, during the team’s celebrations for winning the Spanish championship, waved a Palestinian flag from the roof of the open-top bus transporting the players, have gone viral. One of the images was shared by Yamal himself on his Instagram profile. The flag belonged to a fan following the bus parade: while the fan in question was waving it, Yamal asked him to pass it to him and then decided to display it from the roof of the open-top bus. The footballer – who is currently dealing with an injury – had already taken a stand on other current issues when in March he condemned islamophobic chants during a friendly match between the Spanish national team and Egypt. “Using a religion as a target of mockery on the field makes you ignorant and racist people. Football is for fun, not for disrespecting people for what they are or what they believe,” he wrote then on social media, remembering that he is Muslim. Yamal’s article shows the footballer taking a Palestinian flag from a fan and waving it on the open-top bus: the gesture during the Barcelona celebrations comes from Il Fatto Quotidiano. #Yamal #Palestinian #Barcelona #LamineYamal #Spanish #Instagram #Egypt #Muslim #IlFattoQuotidiano https://www.ilfattoquotidiano.it/2026/05/12/lamine-yamal-bandiera-palestinese-barcellona-video-palestina/8383609/

Flotilla, the video of Saif after the liberation: “I left thousands of Palestinian prisoners, including children. We must continue to mobilize.” I’ve just arrived in Athens. Thousands of Palestinian prisoners remain, including children, women, and men. I’m sure the treatment I’ve received isn’t comparable to the suffering they endure, the testimonies we have of their torture, the violence every day. This is the videomessage posted on X by Spanish-Palestinian activist Saif Abukeshek, immediately after his release and arrival at the airport in Athens, before boarding a flight to Spain. “We must continue to mobilize, we cannot forget the Palestinian prisoners,” the activist appeals, thanking everyone who has helped, “the legal team Adalah, my family, my wife and children, my colleagues in the movement, the 180 courageous members of the Global Flotilla.” “I heard your voice” during his imprisonment, “it gave me strength, but we haven’t finished our work yet. We must go forward, we must continue to mobilize until Palestine is free,” is the exhortation of Saif Abukeshek, as he remembers “the people at sea who are doing their part,” in relation to the other vessels of the humanitarian expedition, which aim to reach Gaza. The activist appeals to “raise your voices in every corner of the world,” “on land and at sea for a free Palestine.” “Saif was released from Israeli detention and, after 6 difficult days, his message is clear: we must continue to mobilize,” it reads on the X profile of the Global Sumud Flotilla, where the short videomessage is published. The article “Flotilla, the video of Saif after his release: ‘I left thousands of Palestinian prisoners, even children. We must continue to mobilize’,” comes from Il Fatto Quotidiano. #Palestinian #Athens #Spanish #SaifAbukeshek #Spain #Adalah #theGlobalFlotilla #Palestine #Israeli #Flotilla #IlFattoQuotidiano https://www.ilfattoquotidiano.it/2026/05/10/flotilla-gaza-saif-abukeshek-liberazione-video-prigionieri-notizie/8381186/

NEW | Far-right Israeli minister announces uprooting 3,000 Palestinian trees to expand settlements in occupied West Bank “building the Land of Israel and destroying the idea of a Palestinian state” Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich announced the uprooting of around 3,000 trees planted by Palestinians in the northern occupied West Bank, openly linking the attack to settlement expansion and efforts to block the establishment of a Palestinian state. The trees, reportedly olive trees, were removed from about 50 acres of land near the "Shaked settlement" to pave the way for expanding an industrial zone and building a new settlement, as part of broader Israeli plans already approved by the occupation government. The destruction comes amid a wider campaign of occupation and agricultural targeting, with repeated uprooting of Palestinian trees that form a key source of livelihood, while illegal outposts linked to settler violence continue to expand across the occupied territory. #Israel #Palestine #Gaza #WestBank #Palestinian

Flotilla, the activists’ complaint: “Sexual violence and anal searches by the Israeli army” “Physical and sexual violence,” “invasive and humiliating search procedures.” The first testimonies from activists detained and collected by the Global Sumud Flottila denounce “a systematic degradation of civilian participants.” The accounts were collected after the release of 179 participants to Greek authorities and indicate “a resort to physical violence and abuse, including sexual abuse, as instruments of intimidation and control.” Specifically, according to the statement, “participants documented a regime of invasive and humiliating search procedures, together with targeted physical and sexual violence directed both against men and women. It emerged that at least four participants suffered sexual assault. Two people reported being digitally penetrated rectally with a finger. Others reported being repeatedly and forcefully struck on their genitals; others still reported that their genitals were gripped, squeezed, or pulled; all while simultaneously subjected to sexual-themed verbal abuse.” These episodes, they continue, “are not described as isolated incidents, but as part of a broader pattern of treatment aimed at dehumanizing those who express solidarity with the Palestinian people.” While the illegal detention of leaders Saif Abukeshek and Thiago Ávila continues in the Shikma prison, in Israel, the Global Sumud Flotilla seeks to shed light on the conditions in which the detained participants were treated in recent days. According to the testimonies, “whenever the army believed its authority was being questioned, it resorted to physical and sexual violence to suppress the detainees.” Generally, they recounted “a deliberate deprivation regime used to break the resistance of the participants.” As already reported these days, several tactics were used: “reports of areas outside the containers where participants were detained deliberately flooded during the night”; “targeted removal of heavy clothing, shoes and socks, along with the lack of adequate food, water and blankets”; “medical negligence.” The article "Flotilla, the activists’ denunciation: ‘From the Israeli army, sexual violence and anal searches’ " comes from Il Fatto Quotidiano. #Israeli #first #Greek #Palestinian #SaifAbukeshek #ThiagoÁvila #Shikma #Israel #IlFattoQuotidiano https://www.ilfattoquotidiano.it/2026/05/07/flotilla-gaza-violenze-sessuali-attivisti-notizie/8379117/

NEW | In an interview with AlJazeera, Hamas Gaza leader Dr. Khalil al-Hayya said: Israeli attacks across Gaza, including a strike in al-Daraj neighborhood that killed Hamza al-Sherbasi and injured several others, reflect a continued campaign of aggression targeting civilians and Palestinian leadership. He stressed that the attacks are part of ongoing pressure tactics by Israel to impose outcomes through “killing and terror,” adding that all Palestinians are being targeted, regardless of status, and that such actions will not break the people’s will. Al-Hayya stated that Israel has repeatedly violated the ceasefire agreement, noting that more than 850 Palestinians have been killed over months alongside continued blockade, starvation, and restrictions on aid, which he said have stalled negotiations. He emphasized that Hamas has fulfilled its commitments and informed mediators of its readiness to proceed, but said Israel is refusing to adhere to agreements, particularly regarding humanitarian access. He concluded that Palestinians will remain steadfast in Gaza, rejecting displacement and surrender, and will continue pursuing their rights, including self-determination and statehood. #Israel #Palestine #Gaza #Hamas #Palestinian

»It is precisely here that moral injury enters as a seductive new discourse to Israeli media and psychiatrists alike. It appears to reintroduce guilt into clinical language, but in a carefully controlled form that does not turn into a confession. Guilt becomes a symptom. The #soldier is no longer simply guilty of committing atrocious crimes; he is “morally injured.” His anguish is a condition to be acknowledged by the media, studied by researchers and universities, and treated by psychiatrists. While the genocidal acts that produced that injury, the destruction of entire neighborhoods, the use of human shields, and indiscriminate fire, disappear into the background. The diagnosis recentres the Israeli’s suffering and pushes the #Palestinian’s suffering further out of the frame.« https://mondoweiss.net/2026/05/how-modern-psychology-is-turning-a-genocidal-army-into-a-morally-injured-one/ #WarCrimes #Gaza #genocide #Israel

NEW | Want a green card? Better make sure you haven’t criticized Israel on social media - The Guardian New Trump administration guidelines allow U.S. immigration authorities to scrutinize applicants’ social media and deny green cards over political views, with criticism of Israel increasingly treated as grounds for rejection. Internal directives reportedly instruct officers to flag cases involving “anti-Israeli” views, broadly defining them to include pro-Palestinian statements, activism, or participation in protests. Even posts condemning Israeli genocide or calling for Palestinian rights such as “Stop Israeli terror in Palestine” could be used against applicants. Among the cases highlighted is Turkish student Rümeysa Öztürk, who was detained after co-authoring a pro-Palestinian op-ed referencing the genocide in Gaza, and Palestinian activist Mahmoud Khalil, who faced deportation attempts over his advocacy. The policy has sparked alarm among rights groups, who warn it expands the use of immigration law to suppress dissent, creating a chilling effect where immigrants, students, and residents fear detention or deportation for speaking out on Palestine, as criticism of Israel is increasingly conflated with antisemitism. #Israel #Palestine #Gaza #Genocide #Trump #Palestinian

NEW | For the first time since 1967, Israel moves to expel an entire Palestinian neighborhood in Jerusalem B’Tselem reports that Israeli occupation authorities are advancing plans to expel Palestinians from Silwan, placing around 1,800 residents at risk after hundreds have already been displaced in recent years. In Batn al-Hawa, dozens of families have been forced out, with many more, including children, facing imminent expulsion. In al-Bustan, dozens of homes have been demolished, with over a hundred more set for destruction, threatening the displacement of large numbers of residents. The rights group warns that what is unfolding in Silwan reflects a broader policy of forced displacement targeting Palestinians across occupied areas. #Israel #Palestine #Gaza #Palestinian #Jerusalem

Signs of torture appear on activists Saif Abu Keshek and Thiago Ávila, members of the Global Sumud Flotilla's steering committee, who were abducted by the Israeli navy in international waters off Greece. Abu Keshek is a Palestinian Spanish activist. Israel claims he is affiliated with a terrorist organization, without providing evidence for these allegations. Ávila is a prominent Brazilian activist who has participated in previous attempts to break the Israeli siege on Gaza. #Israel #Palestine #Gaza #Palestinian
