#AV1

More breathless, but vague praise for #Mythos. Now #mozilla's CTO has come out with a detail-free, hyperbole-laden blog post. I can't get anything below the surface level on this blog post. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places. The blog post itself contains no links or references (except a link to a prior blog post)The Firefox 150 release notes has zero mentions of #Claude, #Anthropic, or Mythos. The security advisories in Firefox 150 lists 41 bugsAnthropic is credited exactly 3 times. The blog post says This week’s release of Firefox 150 includes fixes for 271 vulnerabilities identified during this initial evaluationit is not clear why the blog says 271, the release lists 41 issues, and only 3 acknowledge AnthropicI've tried looking on Mozilla's bugzilla and I have no access to any bug that is named in those release notes. I can't even see the conversation, much less the code change. How is someone supposed to put this blog post's claims into context?

#Mozilla has essentially endorsed Anthropic's claims about #Mythos after the model found 271 vulnerabilities in the Firefox codebase. But instead of seeing Mythos as a zero-day doomsday, CTO Bobby Holley hails it as a bounty for security auditing: https://blog.mozilla.org/en/firefox/ai-security-zero-day-vulnerabilities/

I'm considering moving away from Mozilla Firefox because their AI pivot is downright disgusting. Will explore and test soon. #linux #fuckai #mozilla

Something to look forward to for Firefox fans. It’s called Project Nova, the web browser’s first redesign in six years. With the revamp, Firefox aims to distinguish itself from Chrome and Edge by offering control over AI features while maintaining its focus on privacy. I just blocked all AI enhancements in Firefox 148.0. Did you ask Mozilla for the option to "keep a chatbot in view as you browse"? If not, who did? And why? #mozilla #firefox #anthropic #openai #microsoft #google #mistral #ai #enshittification

Early design mockups show Mozilla considering a new Firefox interface called Nova, which features a more rounded layout and updated browser UI concepts. https://linuxiac.com/early-mockups-reveal-mozilla-exploring-a-new-nova-design-for-firefox/ #mozilla #firefox #opensource

@notasnek@infosec.exchange #mozilla should rebrand #Firefox to FirefoxFocus, but for the desktop. Add #ai crap to regular Firefox and watch that disappear down the toilet… https://www.firefox.com/en-US/browsers/mobile/focus/

Nice Firefox became more useful again! #NoAI Now if we can get the something for blocking AI integrations on websites, like we have for 3rd party cookies that would be awesome! Thank you #firefox #mozilla for listening.

*click* Until Firefox devs screw something up that's absolutely no AI functionality for me, thanks. Oh, it's in its own new section of the settings, "AI Controls". #firefox #mozilla #noai

You may have heard that #mozilla introduced an #AI kill switch into #Firefox. If you would rather use a browser that is less interested in #LLM technologies, @Waterfox@mastodon.social has been your companion for over a decade. I had a chance to ask the founder and developer some questions about Waterfox's history, operations, and their take on AI. Enjoy and and share! https://www.quippd.com/writing/2026/02/02/fifteen-years-of-waterfox-alex-kontos-on-independence-ai-and-the-future-of-browsers.html #browser #tech #opensource #interview #internet

Instead of an "AI kill switch" like they promised, #Mozilla will provide "AI controls" buried deep in settings a #Firefox update which isn't out yet, until then the AI features which are already released and on by default can only be disabled by digging through about:config https://blog.mozilla.org/en/firefox/ai-controls/

@plwt@mstdn.social Today I managed log on in my #mozilla account by resetting with the recovery key I changed also the TOTP and the one time codes in case TOTP fails. Advice: remove all spaces from the code before entering! I have no clue why the password was suddenly wrong #hacking #attack ?
