#theBeeAt3 Basic bee facts every day at 3pm. # 319 Bumblebees got rhythm! Or more to the point - bumblebees get rhythm! Recent research found that not only can bumblebees recognise a rhythm but they can identify the same pattern even when the tempo is adjusted. 🐝🤯 #bees #pollinators #nature #environment #science #education #wildlife #worldbeesanctuary #biodiversity #organic #vegan

As usual at this time of year we have people on worried about having a bumblebee ‘hive’ in their garden. ‘Are they dangerous?’ ‘Should I have them removed?’ ‘Will they be there forever?’ Here’s a quick #bumblebee #lifecycle thread to explain. Please #repost / #share for the #bees. 1/14

#theBeeAt3 Basic bee facts every day at 3pm. # 313 Glyphosate Based Herbicides (GBH) are the most widely used #pesticides globally. Increased use of genetically engineered glyphosate-tolerant crops which allow GBH application throughout the growing season hugely increases GBH exposure with severe consequences for #bees and ecosystems. #food #nature #insects #science #education #biodiversity #environment #worldbeesanctuary #vegan

1 million bees make for bumper-to-buzzer traffic on a Tennessee highway ramp Travelers on an East Tennessee interstate were forced to brake for workers — and drones, perhaps even a queen — when a truck carrying about 1 million bees crashed Friday. The swarm shut down an exit of Interstate 40 in Knoxville. There were no injuries. #bees https://apnews.com/article/bees-highway-crash-tennessee-592ae29c23856d6b67bcc7123fe9867a

It’s that time of year - folks asking us about #bumblebees - WHY THEY’RE SEEING THEM ON THE GROUND - so here’s a thread to explain. Please #repost ! Every queen that survives means a new colony that gets to exist & produce queen #bees for next year! So important to #share! Thank you.🙏🏼🐝🌍 1/9 #nature #environment #biodiversity #science #education #worldbeesanctuary

Most #JasonStatham movies are not worth it. I've mentioned #Homefront and Crank: High Voltage. The only reason that I stuck with #TheBeekeeper (2024), despite Statham once again strutting around muttering expressionlessly, fighting people, and stealing other people's cars, was the cast of British actors (from #MinnieDriver through #JemmaRedgrave to #DonGilet) all putting on their best General American accents and pretending to be the upper echelons of the U.S.A. intelligence services and government. I was also intrigued by the #bees, but that part was rubbish. There are holes in the plot that one could drive a truck through. Indeed, Statham does drive a truck through one, and ride underneath a truck over another. The whole premise of the movie is stupid, and it is nothing more than a bunch of fight scenes strung together, but not with anything like the panache of Kill Bill. Of course they've already made a sequel. I can make a good guess what Statham will be doing. #UKMovies

My best photo yet of a native Blue-Banded Bee! 😍 😍 😍 It doesn't do the brilliance of the blue justice, though. They are buzz pollinators, so as usual, I heard it before I saw it. (Buzz pollinators shake the pollen off by vibrating — it's a loud buzz!) More about them here: https://www.australiangeographic.com.au/blogs/creatura-with-bec-crew/2014/09/blue-banded-bee-a-native-beauty/ #WildOz #Bees

When the weather’s a washout, don't let your harvest fail! 🌧️🐝 If bees aren't flying, you can hand-pollinate courgettes yourself. Identify females by the tiny fruit at the base. Peel a male flower & press it into the female "trumpet." One male does it all! #GardeningTips #GrowYourOwn #Bees
