@timberwraith@mastodon.social TRUTH. Just a few days ago I had a friend point out some embedded gender binary thinking in MY thoughts that I hadn't realized was there. And had been for over a decade. And that thinking had been from a human sexuality course taught by a cis queer instructor. #sexuality #transgender

For anyone reading this thread and getting defensive, I'm not saying you're to *blame* for having those embedded thoughts. Since I’m going on about personal stuff, I’ll also mention that psychedelics have played a major role in me figuring out my gender identity. Using THC gummies definitely loosened the damn but late last year I tried mushrooms for the first time. During that first trip, it was just so obvious to me that I wanted to be someone I wasn’t. It sort of threw the shackles off my brain (that I had put there) and let me express what was hidden deep down inside. The more I thought about it, the more I realized that I wanted to be something other than male. I didn’t want to be a woman, but something in between. I want to take from both columns. Who says guys can’t wear yoga pants or leggings? Or a skirt? Or makeup? Mushrooms lowered my inhibitions enough for me to finally admit it out loud. And once I said, “I am trans” out loud for the first time, it felt so right. Not to be too horny on main, but getting to wear clothes that make me feel sexy is so refreshing. It’s ignited my interest in fashion. It was always there (my spouse and I constantly gab about onscreen fashions during movies) but I love exploring this new arena. My spouse has been encouraging me to find my style and helping guide me through the world of women’s #fashion- though if anyone else has tips or suggestions on fashion for trans femmes, I’m all ears. She’s also helped me with my makeup. If anyone has a good basic #makeup tips, I’ll gladly take some of those too. It’s nice knowing you’re queer your whole life. Even before you realize you are trans. Being bisexual means I have always been sort of in the middle instead of on the edges of the sexuality spectrum. So exploring new things has always been fun. Around the time I started questioning my gender, we added someone else to our bedroom. Purely sexual, not friends or anything. Just fuckbuddies. We both wanted to try new things. He was (is) very dominant and it really unlocked a lot of submissiveness within both of us. Since he is much more masculine than me, he took over the main “male” role and I look on a more femme roll. It does also explains a lot of my fetishes. It's morning. Just contemplating the day. One odd bit about emotions post-transition is just how much more nuance there is to them. Emotions largely felt like a bludgeon pre-transition - joy, or anger, or sadness. Post-transition, these emotions get weird, y'all. Today, I feel good, at peace, but sad as well, with the occasional sprinkle of anger; I've been on the verge of tears a lot in the last 24 hours or so. Emotions post-transition are like taking someone who's only ever eaten McDonald's food their whole life, and giving them a beautifully complex meal, like a nice curry or mole sauce, to try. It boggles the mind, sometimes.
