If you want to share someone else’s post in Mastodon but add a content warning (CW) to it, here’s how:
- Click boost 🔁 on the post but select the option to quote it instead of boosting
- Click the ❗ content warning option and write a reason for the CW
The content warning will cover both your own post and the quoted post.

You might have noticed a "Notes" or "Personal Note" feature on Mastodon and wondered what it's for?
The idea is so you can keep private notes about an account which only you can see. For example you might want to note why you blocked an account, or perhaps you're collaborating with them on a project and want to make a note about that account's role.
