Today we saw a lifer!
My phone alerted me to some new arrivals so we headed up to a farmers field near Lessingham, north Norfolk. Perched on the power cables were 13 European Bee-Eaters!
Excuse the photo quality they were at quite a range from the road.

Birding in Manhattan is such fun. Here are three of the four common ravens I saw yesterday, two in the nest in a recess at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine and one on an adjacent tree, calling loudly.

TW- reptiles
Went reptile-hunting near Bath, found 4 species - Common Lizard, Adder, Grass Snake and Slow Worm.
Sadly, the first three are now becoming scarce in the local area, in part due to habitat destruction, but also from non-native predators, including cats and especially Pheasants, which are released in large numbers around the outskirts of Bath. Pheasants will eat reptiles - even Adders!

It's not exactly a #bigfoot sighting, but maybe the next closest thing.... I saw a mountain beaver! They're not actually beavers, but a kind of "living fossil" rodent that's found only in the #PNW. I've been been hiking #Washington for literally decades, and known about them for almost that long, but this is the first time I've actually laid eyes on one. And yes like all good #cryptid photos these are blurry. #WildLife #wildlifephotography
