BBC News | TikTok launches £3.99 subscription for no ads in UK AI generated summary, Read the full article for complete information. TikTok announced a new £3.99‑a‑month subscription for UK users aged 18 and over that removes platform‑served ads, though sponsored creator posts marked “#ad” will still appear. The move follows similar ad‑free options rolled out by Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat, and reflects a broader “consent‑or‑pay” shift in which users must either tolerate personalised advertising or pay for a privacy‑focused experience. TikTok’s UK managing director highlighted that the service gives people more control while still supporting British businesses, while experts warn the model could create a two‑tiered internet where only those who can afford it enjoy ad‑free, less‑tracked usage. BBC News | TikTok launches £3.99 subscription for no ads in UK AI generated summary, Read the full article for complete information. TikTok announced that, beginning Monday, UK users aged 18 and over will be offered a £3.99‑a‑month “TikTok Ad‑Free” subscription that removes platform‑delivered ads from the For You feed, though creators’ sponsored posts (marked “#ad”) will still appear; the rollout follows a 2023 global test and mirrors similar ad‑free options introduced by Instagram, Facebook and Snapchat, with TikTok’s UK managing director saying the plan gives users more control while maintaining the app’s economic impact, while non‑subscribers will continue seeing personalized ads but will lose the ability to opt out—an approach that experts say reflects a broader “consent or pay” shift toward a two‑tiered internet where paying users gain extra privacy and control.

To best handle an intercontinental flight, all you need is a tennis ball. It doesn’t need to be booked in business class or investing in expensive gadgets: sometimes, to survive a transcontinental flight, just a tennis ball is enough. What has relaunched the trick, which has circulated among experienced travelers for years, was a creator on TikTok who said she never leaves without one in her bag. The video, shared and replicated thousands of times, shows the tiktoker tucking two balls into a sock and placing them behind her back for self-massage. Picked up by Metro.co.uk, it’s going viral. The ball comes into play when, after several hours of flying, finding a tolerable position becomes a challenge. The idea is to use it as a self-massage tool directly on the seat, utilizing body weight to apply pressure in the most contracted areas. The mechanism is that of deep massage: positioned between the back and the backrest, in the lower back or between the shoulder blades, the ball allows you to work on tense muscles with small, controlled movements. The relief isn’t miraculous, but it’s real: less stiffness, less pain, and more tolerance for forced immobility. Not just the back. Some also use it under their feet, rolling it to reactivate circulation, or on their glutes, another area that suffers particularly during long flights. The best thing is that no particular skills are needed: it's intuitive, discreet (more or less) and above all immediate. But what do experts think of this undoubtedly low-cost solution? Targeted pressure on contracted muscles really helps to improve circulation and reduce tension. But with an important caveat: it cannot replace movement. Alongside this trick, there are other strategies that frequent travelers consider indispensable. Drinking plenty of water to counter the dry air of the cabin, avoiding alcohol and caffeine to limit swelling and tension, moving feet and ankles frequently, even while seated. And also: when possible, choosing the seat on the aisle to not feel "trapped," or using small lumbar supports to improve posture. The article “To best face a transcontinental flight, just a tennis ball is enough” comes from Il Fatto Quotidiano. #TikTok #IlFattoQuotidiano https://www.ilfattoquotidiano.it/2026/05/02/per-affrontare-un-volo-intercontinentale-al-meglio-basta-una-pallina-da-tennis/8372769/

I'm thoroughly enjoying Loops over TikTok, it's much less addicting with the way it handles the FYP and content feed. I only wish there was a bigger presence of occultists and clergy. #loops #tiktok

Times of India | TikTok creator payments UK: New debit card ends long wait for viral earnings AI generated summary, Read the full article for complete information. TikTok and Visa have introduced a free virtual debit card for UK‑based creators that links directly to a creator’s TikTok account, allowing Live‑stream earnings—and income from brand deals or other sources—to be accessed instantly rather than waiting weeks for bank transfers. The new card solves a cash‑flow problem highlighted by research showing that nearly half of creators experience late or inconsistent payments, with many turning down work because of financial uncertainty. TikTok Live gifts are bought with in‑app coins, converted to “diamonds,” and then to real money—a process that previously caused delayed payouts. The Visa‑backed card, available to users 18 and older through the TikTok app, offers digital‑wallet integration but is not a formal business account, and reflects the broader move toward structured payment infrastructure as the global creator economy, estimated at 200 million people, heads toward a $500 billion valuation by 2027. yahoo news | Vivian Wilson explains growing up with wealth: It's "a never-ending cycle of... Vivian Wilson, the 21‑year‑old child of Elon Musk, says her father was an unsupportive parent despite the privilege of a wealthy Los Angeles upbringing. She legally changed her name and gender at 18, cutting ties with Musk “in any way, shape, or form,” and later recalled how Musk publicly denounced her transition, claiming he had been “tricked” into signing related documents. The backlash propelled Wilson to viral TikTok fame, where she responded to her father’s attacks with a now‑iconic line—“I look pretty good for a dead b**ch”—and earned a Vogue cover in January 2025, though she insists the lingering “Elon’s kid” label is merely a part of her story, not its future. Wilson describes the elite world of private schools and exclusive social circles as “very isolating,” noting that wealth warped the people around her, fostering a relentless cycle of greed and a detachment from reality. She recounts witnessing homelessness as a child and feeling sick at the disparity, which later informed her criticism of the billionaire lifestyle she grew up in. While acknowledging the irony of lecturing on materialism as a former rich kid, she warns that the desire for power can “turn you into someone different” and become a source of personal fear. Beyond her personal narrative, Wilson has taken on broader issues tied to her family’s notoriety. She highlighted Elon Musk’s correspondence with Jeffrey Epstein—emails that suggest he wanted to visit Epstein’s private island—stating she would help authorities uncover the truth. Although she says she has no interest in romance at the moment, focusing instead on “living my life and speaking out on issues that are important” to her, Wilson’s activism signals a determination to challenge the oligarchy and use her platform to address systemic injustice.
