#Transport for #London Freedom of Information release: The request relates to Wrightbus SRM vehicles and potential royalty payments linked to the New Routemaster design under clause 42 of a contract. #TfL confirmed it holds information indicating Wrightbus was expected to propose royalty payments for the use of London Bus Services Ltd intellectual property in two-door vehicles incorporating New Routemaster design features. However, TfL stated the vehicles were sold to a London operator for use on the TfL network and clause 42 was not applied. It added that it is not aware of any other buyers of the model and confirmed that no royalties were collected for either the SRM vehicles or the original New Routemaster design. https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/transparency/freedom-of-information/foi-request-detail?referenceId=FOI-0135-2627

#Transport for #London Freedom of Information release: #TfL said it does not hold any report or study on the feasibility of converting the New Routemaster bus fleet to zero-emission electric operation. Responding to a request published on 1 May 2026, TfL confirmed it has not carried out work assessing such a conversion and therefore cannot provide a report. The authority said the nearest related work is the previously disclosed Equipmake repowering trial, which had already been shared with the requester. TfL added that the request was considered under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and its information access policy. https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/transparency/freedom-of-information/foi-request-detail?referenceId=FOI-0144-2627

#Transport for #London Freedom of Information release: #TfL said it holds data on bus lanes removed or shortened since 2021, but only in terms of total lengths retired rather than a count of individual lanes. A released dataset lists locations across numerous London boroughs, including Westminster, Camden, Southwark and Newham, detailing where lanes have been decommissioned. TfL said rising demand for road space and policies under the Mayor’s Transport Strategy have led to some lanes being suspended temporarily, shortened, or removed to support wider “Safe and Healthy Streets” measures. In some cases, alternative measures such as traffic signal technology are used to prioritise buses. TfL confirmed it does not hold information on specific closure dates or reasons for individual schemes. The dataset also includes operational hours, permitted vehicles and lane characteristics prior to removal. https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/transparency/freedom-of-information/foi-request-detail?referenceId=FOI-4338-2526

#Transport for #London Freedom of Information release: #TfL has responded to a Freedom of Information request about upcoming Customer Service Assistant (CSA) recruitment. The request, submitted on 11 April 2026, asked when CSA and CSA Night Tube roles would open and when applications would begin. TfL stated that the next London Underground CSA recruitment round is expected to be advertised by November 2026. This is likely to focus on CSA2 full-time roles, although this may change depending on operational needs, with CSA1 full-time roles a possible alternative. Recruitment for CSA1 Night Tube roles is not expected to take place this year and may not be required for some time, based on current workforce forecasts. Job vacancies will be published on TfL’s website.

#Transport for #London Freedom of Information release: #TfL has published a cost breakdown for the Gallows Corner project following an FOI request. Total expenditure to October 2025, including previous years, stood at £51.5m, with a further £15.1m spent between October 2025 and February 2026. The largest costs fall within construction, including contractors and statutory undertakers such as water main works. TfL said some post-October spending relates to work originally scheduled earlier but delayed due to poor ground conditions. The flyover renewal, described as essential for safety and reliability, is now expected to reopen fully by the end of April 2026, with final project costs to be confirmed by spring 2027. https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/transparency/freedom-of-information/foi-request-detail?referenceId=FOI-4206-2526

#Transport for #London Freedom of Information release: #TfL has provided internal correspondence relating to a YouTube documentary on changes to the W12 and W14 bus routes. The correspondence, covering March 2025 to present, involves staff, management, bus operators, local councils, and external stakeholders. The video, which highlights the impact of route changes on the elderly, disabled people, and school children, prompted discussions within TfL about service adjustments. Some personal data has been redacted under data protection rules. The release confirms the information exists and is now available, with sensitive details removed in line with #UK GDPR and the FOI Act. https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/transparency/freedom-of-information/foi-request-detail?referenceId=FOI-4315-2526

#Transport for #London Freedom of Information release: #TfL has responded to a Freedom of Information request about the Silvertown Tunnel Cycle Shuttle, a free service launched on 7 April 2025 to help cyclists cross the Thames. TfL said thousands have used the shuttle, but it does not record month-by-month usage. Instead, it carries out week-long counts at different times of the year as part of its monitoring approach. These figures are published in quarterly reports to the Silvertown Tunnel Implementation Group. TfL said the service is still relatively new and marketing campaigns are continuing to raise awareness, with the expectation that usage will grow as more cyclists learn about it. In response to questions on costs, TfL said it awarded a £1,967,010 contract to Stagecoach to operate the bus service for three years. https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/transparency/freedom-of-information/foi-request-detail?referenceId=FOI-4374-2526

Must-wear items include shirts, trousers or skirts, shoes, and badges, with optional layers, outerwear, and accessories. Uniforms must be clean, worn correctly, and maintained according to care guidelines to ensure safety and professional presentation. https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/transparency/freedom-of-information/foi-request-detail?referenceId=FOI-4318-2526

#Transport for #London Freedom of Information release: #TfL has responded to a request for the Limehouse Station lease plan. TfL confirmed it does not hold a full lease plan, as the land is not owned by the Docklands Light Railway (DLR). Only the DLR viaduct structure, including piers, columns, concrete islands, and foundations, is included in the 200-year lease from Network Rail dated 30 April 1987. TfL provided a plan showing DLR-owned structures in turquoise and areas owned by TfL in green. https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/transparency/freedom-of-information/foi-request-detail?referenceId=FOI-4337-2526

🚶🛍️🏗️ The Mayor of #London, Sadiq Khan, has confirmed plans to pedestrianise Oxford Street between Orchard Street and Great Portland Street by the end of the summer, following a second public consultation that drew more than 2,700 responses. #TfL will begin work to remove traffic from the stretch, with access maintained for emergency and overnight servicing vehicles. Initial design principles include more trees and planting, improved lighting, seating and signage, and space for cultural, sporting and seasonal events from this year. The scheme aims to boost the West End economy and enhance safety, accessibility and sustainability. The Oxford Street Development Corporation, the GLA and TfL will develop detailed designs with businesses, residents and community groups. https://www.london.gov.uk/mayor-confirms-next-steps-make-world-famous-oxford-street-traffic-free-end-summer

#Transport for #London Freedom of Information release: #TfL has confirmed it does not employ any train drivers under the age of 20, despite last year’s change lowering the minimum age from 20 to 18 to help tackle staff shortages. In response to a Freedom of Information request, TfL said the youngest train operator currently in post is aged 23. The authority also stated it does not record applicants’ dates of birth at the application stage, meaning it cannot say whether any 18 or 19-year-olds have applied for driver roles. TfL reported that 288 train operator vacancies required filling across 2025. https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/transparency/freedom-of-information/foi-request-detail?referenceId=FOI-4063-2526

#Transport for #London Freedom of Information release: The LGBTQ+ pedestrian lights at Trafalgar Square have been replaced with standard signals as part of TfL’s LED retrofit programme. The upgrade improves energy efficiency and reliability, as LEDs last longer and require less maintenance. #TfL confirmed there is currently no equivalent LED version of the bespoke #LGBTQ designs, so they cannot be reinstated at present. The change has prompted disappointment from some members of the public, who viewed the previous lights as a symbol of London’s inclusivity and celebration of diversity. https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/transparency/freedom-of-information/foi-request-detail?referenceId=FOI-3541-2526
