Nella notte, sul Centrale, Darderi ha battuto per 7-6(5), 5-7, 6-0 il 19enne spagnolo Rafael Jodar, stella nascente del circuito mondiale. Già capace di salvare quattro match point contro Alexander Zverev, Darderi giocherà contro Casper Ruud la sua decima semifinale ATP, la prima in un torneo di categoria superiore ai 250.
