I just remembered how Ghost In The Shell: Standalone Complex literally told you what type of episode you were getting.
It was either self-contained 'Standalone'...
... or a overarching plot-centric 'Complex'.

I am a fan.
It looks like a bazillion dollars, and was made by people who obviously loved the anime.
