(Adnkronos) - "L'Italia deve investire molto di più sul mare e sull'economia marittima, che oggi rappresenta uno dei settori con le maggiori possibilità di crescita". Lo ha dichiarato il viceministro alle Infrastrutture e ai Trasporti Edoardo Rixi a margine dell'Assemblea pubblica di Assiterminal a Roma, intervenendo sul futuro del sistema portuale italiano e sulla riforma della governance marittima. Secondo Rixi, “anche se non navighiamo in mari tranquilli e con venti favorevoli”, il settore marittimo rappresenta una delle principali opportunità strategiche per il Paese. “O l'Italia fa sistema, con un comparto marittimo che lavora come una squadra e condivide buone pratiche, oppure rischiamo di non sfruttare appieno le nostre potenzialità”, ha spiegato. Il viceministro ha sottolineato come il commercio internazionale italiano sia ancora fortemente concentrato all'interno del continente europeo. “Quasi il 70% del nostro commercio resta in Europa e non oltremare. È invece importante rafforzare le strategie marittime e proiettare all'estero le nostre capacità, anche acquisendo porti in altri Paesi”. Rixi ha indicato tra le aree strategiche per lo sviluppo internazionale dell'Italia “Sud America, Indo-Pacifico e Africa”, definite “economie emergenti con grandi potenzialità per le imprese italiane”. Sul tema della governance portuale, il viceministro ha spiegato che “serve una struttura capace di coordinare alcune attività sopra le singole Autorità portuali, per garantire regole certe e comuni in tutti gli scali italiani”. L'obiettivo, ha aggiunto, è fare in modo che “le buone pratiche non restino legate alla singola Autorità portuale o alla capacità del singolo presidente, ma possano diventare patrimonio comune dell'intero sistema”. “Il Parlamento e il Paese dovranno decidere, io non ho posizioni preconcette”, ha precisato Rixi, sottolineando però “la difficoltà storica dell'Italia nel superare rendite di posizione e visioni di piccolo cabotaggio”. “Io credo che il nostro Paese debba diventare la prima economia marittima del continente, superando anche gli olandesi.
