The Westport Observatory, run by the volunteers of the Westport Astronomical Society brings the night sky down to the thousands who visit annually. We’re a non-profit that’s free and open to the public every Wednesday night from 8-10 pm if the skies are clear. We do suggest a donation of $5 per person if you're not a member. A city-size green comet is now visible in the night sky — but C/2024 E1 (Wierzchoś) is just passing through.
Astronomers say this icy visitor will soon be flung out of our solar system and into interstellar space, much like 3I/ATLAS. Blink and you’ll miss it — once it’s gone, it’s gone for good.
