Tour de Force is an album by Brazilian guitarist Bola Sete, released in 1963 through Fantasy Records. Review by Richie Unterberger Sete led a trio on this mid-1963 date, backed by Fred Schrieber on bass and John Rae on drums. It tilts a little to the mellower, more sentimental side than more driving sessions such as the one he did the previous year for Bossa Nova. It's still quality by-the-fire jazz bossa nova music, Sete's playing a lesson in both skill and discreet economy. While he wrote three of the ten songs, his repertoire of cover selections is fairly wide ranging, taking in "Moon River," Dizzy Gillespie's "Tour de Force," and, as a special highlight, his version of Isaac Albeinz's "Asturias," the mournful flamenco-influenced song familiar to any student of Spanish-style guitar. The Sexual Life of the Savages (subtitled Underground Post-Punk from São Paulo, Brazil) is a compilation album produced by Bruno Verner and Eliete Mejorado (the components of avant-garde music duo Tetine), and released in 2005 by British record company Soul Jazz Records. It contains a collection of songs from various artists that formed the São Paulo post-punk movement of the early 1980s. The album received positive reviews. Scott Hreha of PopMatters stated: "If there's one drawback to the disc as a whole, it's the relative transparency of many of the bands' inspirations, which doesn't diminish its importance as much as it makes for an entertaining critical exercise". Brasilia - Sinfonia Da Alvorada by Antonio Carlos Jobim, Vinicius De Moraes, released on Clumbia in 1961. Brasilia: Symphony of Alvorada is a symphonic poem composed by Antônio Carlos Jobim with lyrics by Vinícius de Moraes in 1959 celebrating the inauguration of the new capital of Brazil in 1960, Brasilia. The work is divided into 5 movements, in which different themes are discussed such as the landscape of the central plateau before the construction, the arrival of man in order to found the city, the arrival of the workers, the process of construction of the city and finally, a corner of exaltation to the new city. The work had its first recording in November 1960, with Vinicius himself reciting the text. Arthur Verocai is the debut studio album by Brazilian composer Arthur Verocai, released by Continental Records in 1972. Retrospective assessments of the album have been positive. Jason Ankeny of AllMusic awarded the album 4½ stars. Fool on the Hill is the fourth studio album by Sérgio Mendes and Brasil '66, released in 1968. This is the first album featuring the second edition of Brasil '66. Mendes replaced all of the original band members (with the exception of lead singer Lani Hall). The dismissed members went on to form the short-lived group, The Carnival, which released one self-titled album in 1969. This is also the first appearance of Gracinha Leporace on a Sérgio Mendes album. The album features two top 40 pop singles: the title track and "Scarborough Fair". Severino Dias de Oliveira (May 26, 1930 – December 14, 2006), known professionally as Sivuca, was a Brazilian accordionist, guitarist and singer.
