I think the most interesting thing about the #Starfox remake is that the limited polygon count of the original games informed the design of the Arwings to make them the right kind of visually distinct to orient the player, and those structures, while no longer necessary in that way, persist in the modern design (with in universe details explaining them as engine pods and such).

I am a bit disappointed that Nintendo put all that effort into updating the graphics and adding cut scenes for StarFox, but kept the level design from StarFox 64.
StarFox 64 is a solid game, so I suppose it will be fun for kids who weren't playing games in 1997 (or anyone who skipped the 3DS remake).
But there was an opportunity for making new stuff that they missed.

Even if you aren’t an anthropomorphic fox trying to avenge your father from an evil space ape, you should still try and save the galaxy.
