So I'm bored turning a part on my lathe & looking at a box on my wall that holds various cutting tools. Many hundreds of times I've seen the writing that starts out "Bendix" & I'm like yawn, brake parts. For the first time I read the whole thing: "Bendix Telemetering Equip. To W.S.P.G." OMG! In the late 1940s this box contained the world's first telemetry equipment used in captured German V2 rockets that were being tested at White Sands Proving Grounds, NM! 1/2 #History #Rockets #Military #WWII

'Wing and his colleagues measured a 10-fold concentration of lithium atoms in the upper atmosphere around 20 hours after the uncontrolled re-entry of the Falcon 9 rocket. Increasing amounts of metal, such as lithium...are beginning to alter the chemical composition of Earth’s atmosphere' #musk #bezos #nasa #space #rockets #climateChange https://gizmodo.com/study-confirms-reentering-spacex-rockets-are-peppering-the-upper-atmosphere-with-metal-pollution-2000723932

It appears that ULA VC4S USSF-87 was again subject to more solid rocket motor issues. All indications is that this SRB expelled its nozzle, notably by the direction the exhaust plume ended up going from this booster. All reports indicate the payload arrived at its destination, but it really seems like ULA is starting to lose industry confidence, now having lost Tory Bruno to Blue Origin.
