With Amazon killing off all the old kindles, they’re super-cheap right now. And it turns out that jailbreaking is a minor faff, but not too difficult, really. This one was £10 and is going to somebody who was pondering getting an expensive eink ebook reader just a couple of weeks ago. :D #permacomputing

Where do you see yourself in five years? Ideally, riding my bicycle drawn electronics repair cart full of ancient hardware chips, from before the AI-FOSS Wars. I help communities repair their tech in exchange for a room and meal at the local inn, swapping stories and learning from one another. #monkandrobot #permacomputing

I missed this but it's brilliant : « We Need To Rewild The Internet - The internet has become an extractive and fragile monoculture. But we can revitalize it using lessons learned by ecologists. » by @mariafarrell@mastodon.social & @robin@mastodon.social Berjon « Our online spaces are not ecosystems, though tech firms love that word. They’re plantations; highly concentrated and controlled environments … that madden the creatures trapped within. » › https://www.noemamag.com/we-need-to-rewild-the-internet/ #Internet #Web #SmallWeb #Smolweb #Permacomputing
