🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🚲 #Edinburgh #Waverley #railway station has renewed its partnership with The Bike Station to pass on unclaimed #bicycles for refurbishment and reuse. Each year, dozens of bikes are left at the station. Over the past two years, more than 60 have been abandoned after attempts to reunite them with owners. Bikes are stored in cycle racks for up to two weeks, then moved to secure storage for six months before being released if unclaimed. On 22 April, around 30 bicycles were collected and taken to Polmont Prison for cleaning and servicing as part of the refurbishment process. The Bike Station refurbishes and resells bikes at affordable prices, reinvesting income into #cycling access projects, maintenance training and schemes such as Kids Bike Life. #Sheffield #coffee deliveries on the #ebike done. Definitely becoming more of a fair-weather-cyclist as I get older. But with the weather nicer it beats the car. Our #cargobike is a car-replacement, 32km in an hour and a half converts to averaging 13mph. With stops, that's not much slower than a car but always much more fun. As always, a few chumps hating on people making better transport choices but haters gonna hate so best ignored.
