🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿⛽️🚍 With petrol and diesel prices continuing to rise, more people are looking for ways to cut travel costs in South #Wales. Taking the bus can be a cheaper and more relaxing alternative to driving for local journeys. Whether travelling regularly or occasionally, there are several ways to save money on bus #travel. App users can buy a single ticket in #Cardiff and Penarth for £2.35, nearly 10% cheaper than buying from the driver. Day to Go tickets offer unlimited travel across Cardiff, #Penarth and #Llandough for £5.20 a day, with further savings available through weekly, 4-weekly and annual tickets. Similar options are also available in Barry and across the wider network. For less frequent travel, flexible app tickets may be more suitable. A bundle of 10 single tickets costs £23.50, while the Easy 3 bundle offers three day tickets for £15. All flexible tickets can be activated at any time within a year of purchase. https://www.cardiffbus.com/fuel-prices-rising-catch-bus

Network Rider ticket prices will change from 1 March, with revised fares applying across South Wales. The tickets allow unlimited travel on most bus operators in the region, offering an option for journeys not covered by Cardiff Bus services, including commuting and leisure trips further afield. Prices for #Cardiff Bus-only tickets remain unchanged. The updated day fares are £10.50 for adults, £7.30 for children and £21 for a family ticket. #English or #Scottish concessionary card holders will pay £7.30 for a day ticket. Weekly fares will be £32.50 for adults and £22 for children and concessionary card holders. The operator says the tickets continue to provide value for multi-operator travel across South #Wales. https://www.cardiffbus.com/network-rider-price-revision

Great Western #Railway has launched a new campaign celebrating the myths and legends of the South West and #Wales, featuring the Famous Five on a quest to find a dragon reportedly seen flying across the region. The 60-second film, directed by Oscar and BAFTA winner Peter Baynton, follows the group as they travel from #Cardiff to #Penzance, with landmarks including Cardiff Castle featured. Inspired by GWR’s 1920s tourism posters, the campaign revisits regional folklore to encourage leisure travel. It runs across cinema, television, radio, outdoor and digital platforms until 5 April. The Famous Five ‘Adventures Start Here’ campaign began in 2017 and recently won APG’s Long Term Thinking award. https://news.gwr.com/news/famous-five-chase-dragon-across-the-south-west-and-wales-in-new-gwr-campaign
